Chattopadhyaya as Koot Hoomi

Steve you write:

>I do not doubt for an instant that KH visited Amritsar
>if he says he did. I would suggest being cautious
>about dating his visit if, as I suspect, he did not
>want to make his identity too plain to the
>world. . .
>As for him being there in his astral body, I don't
>think so because he says he intended to spend several
>days there. . . .
>There is no way to be sure, but this seems to
>be the most reasonable interpretation.

>From the above, Steve, I gather that you are willing to
believe that in fact "Koot Hoomi" was actually at Amritsar sometime
in 1880 in his physical body.

But if you really believe that "Koot Hoomi" was
Nisikanta Chattopadhyaya, then I must point out to you that
Chattopadhyaya in his "Three Lectures: The Reminiscences of the German University
Life," etc (1895) writes that he [Chattopadhyaya]was STILL in Europe in
the early 1880s working on his degree. His account shows that he was not
physically in India in the early 1880s --- therefore how could he be Koot
Hoomi?
